Anglesea Discovery Camp are seeking a casual lead cook to join their dynamic team!

About the Camp

Anglesea Discovery Camp is a coastal adventure camp, managed by YMCA Camps. Catering to schools and groups year-round, the team at Anglesea run a variety of programs and activities to suit every group, from beach swimming, canoeing and skateboarding by day, to campfires and stargazing by night. Featuring flexible accommodation options for clients, a vast array of outdoor activities, and nearby access to rivers and beaches, Anglesea Discovery Camp provides the rare opportunity to explore the sand, sea, surf, bush and river environments all in one place.

About the Role

As our Lead Cook, you will work within the catering team to ensure all campers receive delicious meals during their stay, and that kitchen assistants are well supported and guided through their day-to-day duties. You will be responsible for:

• Preparing and providing food for campers, including the coordination of special diets
• Applying best practice as outlined in the camp’s food safety program
• Undertake general cooking duties, including baking and pastry cooking
• Upholding the values of the YMCA at all times

This is a casual role with an hourly rate up to $36.59 per hour.

About You

You are a cook who is looking for some flexibility in your workplace, and possesses strong interpersonal and leadership skills, which will allow you to build strong and positive relationships with campers, colleagues and other stakeholders. You will be well-organised, committed to excellent customer service and have the ability to apply best practice as outlined in the camp’s Food Safety Plan and to ensure compliance with local government requirements and YMCA policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
