About the role
The Assistant Manager, Property is responsible for providing strategic guidance and expert advice on the management of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP)’s property portfolio and workplace environment.
Working across the CDPP and with external providers, you will:
- provide trusted advice on property, and facilities matters, balancing operational requirements, business priorities, financial considerations, risk and government policy;
- use sound judgement to identify emerging issues, develop practical solutions and support senior executives to make well-informed decisions; and
- lead and develop a small team and build productive relationships with senior stakeholders, service providers and government partners.
What will you bring?
You will bring:
- decisive leadership capability and the ability to provide trusted, strategic advice to senior stakeholders;
- sound commercial and financial judgement, with an understanding of value for money and responsible stewardship of public resources;
- the ability to identify, assess and manage property, workplace, contractual, financial and operational risks;
- extensive knowledge of property, facilities or workplace management principles and relevant government requirements;
- demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and make evidence-based decisions in a complex operating environment;
- firm negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence outcomes where priorities differ;
- experience leading projects, service providers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality outcomes;
- a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve property services, processes and the workplace experience; and
- a strong commitment to integrity, accountability, probity and transparent decision-making.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to shape how the CDPP manages its property and workplace environment and to contribute directly to the effective stewardship of public resources.
You will work with executive leadership and a broad range of stakeholders on matters that have CDPP-wide impact. Your advice and decisions will help ensure property and workplace arrangements support the CDPP’s current needs while remaining sustainable and fit for the future.
You will join a team where integrity, collaboration and continuous improvement are valued. The role provides scope to influence strategic direction, lead meaningful change and build strong professional relationships across the CDPP and with external partners.
If you are an experienced property or workplace professional who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing outcomes and making a tangible difference to how an organisation operates, we encourage you to apply.
No matter where you work with us, you’ll have access to:
- unique and challenging work;
- professional development opportunities;
- generous leave entitlements with additional paid time off during the Christmas close-down period;
- clear and transparent salary progression, and scheduled salary increases;
- 15.4% superannuation;
- flexible working arrangements that promote work-life balance;
- a $295 annual wellbeing allowance; and
- free and confidential 24/7 counselling through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), available for staff and their family members.
