About Us
Adelaide PHN is a federally funded organisation who works together with the primary health care sector to improve health outcomes for all people living in the Adelaide metropolitan region.
PHNs have been established with the key objective to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes; and
improve coordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time.
Adelaide PHN covers all the Adelaide metropolitan region, from Sellicks Hill in the south to Angle Vale in the north, and from the beaches in the west to the foothills in the east. This area is home to 1.2 million people, most of the South Australian population.
Description:
Opportunity to join Adelaide PHN's Community Advisory Council
Expressions of Interest are currently open for our Community Advisory Council (multiple positions available). Our Community Advisory Council provides community members an opportunity to influence Adelaide PHN’s understanding of local health needs, planning and commissioning of services, adding a layer of information to the Needs Assessment that helps inform local community driven solutions to health care in the region. We particularly encourage individuals and/or their families/carers with lived experience in the areas of Youth Mental Health, the LGBTIQA+ community, Alcohol and Other Drugs use, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people from a refugee background, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, Family and Domestic Violence, and/or homelessness to apply. Your unique perspectives and experiences will greatly enrich the Council's composition.
The purpose of the Community Advisory Council is to represent the local community voice and assist Adelaide PHN with planning and gathering information to develop a clear picture of how we can improve the health of people living in our region.
