Full job description

Who We Are

Spawnpoint Media is a production company of over 100 experts globally that bring joy through our live-action and gaming entertainment content, toys, and digital products that reach millions of families worldwide.

Nurturing a passionate community of over 26 million followers, we've amassed more than 11 billion views. We strive to maintain the soul, love, joy, and personality of youth in our content and are committed to our mission of leaving a lasting impact on families across the globe.

Who You Are

We are looking for a passionate and imaginative Script Writer to join our growing team across our Milo & Chip YouTube channels. You are someone with a genuine love for children's storytelling - whether that comes from traditional media (TV, film, publishing) or from creating content for young people on YouTube. You understand what makes young audiences laugh, learn, and come back for more. You're a natural collaborator, a quick learner, and someone who thrives in a creative team environment where no two days are the same.

Your Responsibilites and Skills:

  • Script Writing: Craft compelling, age-appropriate scripts for kids' YouTube content across the Milo & Chip channels, maintaining the unique voice and world of each show.

  • Learning & Development: Shadow our Creative Lead and fellow writers across the channels, absorbing their scripts, style, and process. Actively participate in creative meetings and be ready to step in and assist wherever needed in the creative pipeline. A willingness to learn new workflows and adapt quickly is essential.

  • Creative Collaboration: Work alongside our Creative Lead and report directly to the Producer and Creative Director, contributing ideas and supporting the broader creative vision.

  • SOP & Documentation: Assist in building and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other team documentation. These tasks are woven into the role - not added work - and are a great opportunity to shape how our creative team operates.

  • Ideation: Contribute fresh ideas for storylines, characters, and episode concepts that resonate with our young audiences and align with channel trends.

  • Meeting Participation: Join creative meetings to discuss script progress, share ideas, and collaborate with the team on refining content and addressing any creative challenges.

  • At full capacity (post-training), you can expect to contribute 4–6 scripts per week across both channels.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of writing experience in youth entertainment - this could be TV, film, publishing, theatre, or writing for a kids' YouTube channel with a similar audience and style.

  • A genuine passion for children's storytelling and an understanding of what engages young audiences.

  • Familiarity with channels in a similar space, such as Maizen, Cash and Nico, Aphmau, or Milo and Chip - either through writing for them or studying their content style closely.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.

  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn - this role involves absorbing an established creative process and contributing to it with care.

Bonus Points!

  • Familiarity with YouTube analytics and key metrics (AVD, CTR, Impressions, AVP, etc.) - helpful context but not a dealbreaker for the right writer.

  • Experience writing for gaming or Minecraft/Roblox content is a bonus, but absolutely not essential - we care far more about your storytelling instincts and kids' entertainment background.

Our Offer:

If you're excited to write stories that bring smiles to millions of families across the globe - and you want to do it alongside a passionate, fun-loving creative team - then we'd love to hear from you. Whether you come from traditional youth media or have built your craft writing for YouTube, what matters most is your love of storytelling, your willingness to grow, and your ability to connect with young audiences. Apply now and let's make something great together.
