Full job description

Most job ads will tell you you’ll be “transforming the business”. This one actually means it.

With seven divisions, multiple acquisitions, and a mixture of modern platforms alongside systems that have served their purpose for decades, PBE is now investing heavily in technology, process improvement, and data. They’re preparing for a new ERP, replacing legacy systems, and building the foundations for long-term scalability.

To do that well, they need a Business Systems Analyst who understands both the complexity of modern operations and the importance of getting the fundamentals right. Someone who can map what exists today, clarify what’s needed tomorrow, and help guide the selection and implementation of future solutions.

You’ll report to the IT Manager and work closely with the Finance Director. Both value clarity, autonomy, and practical outcomes. They’ll expect someone comfortable taking initiative, engaging stakeholders across the business, and translating insight into action.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading discovery workshops across divisions to document current (“as-is”) processes and pain points.
  • Designing improved (“to-be”) processes that reflect operational reality and support future growth.
  • Translating business needs into clear, structured requirements for IT, Finance, Operations, and external vendors.
  • Supporting the replacement of legacy business applications, including involvement in solution evaluation and recommendation.
  • Contributing to ERP scoping activities: requirements gathering, business case development, vendor evaluation, and fit-gap analysis.
  • Participating in implementation activities including testing, data migration validation, training, and documentation.
  • Working across sites (Emerald, Mackay, Lithgow, Karratha) to understand processes where they occur.
  • Providing support during roll-out and stabilisation to ensure changes land effectively.
What you’ll bring

  • Senior-level experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and process-mapping capability (Visio, PowerPoint, Excel). BPMN an advantage.
  • Ability to translate operational feedback into clear requirements and actionable outcomes.
  • Understanding of ERP lifecycles and financial/operational processes.
  • Experience with legacy system replacement, data migration, or change management (highly regarded).
  • Background in manufacturing, mining, engineering, or similarly complex operational environments (advantageous).
  • The ability to work autonomously, navigate ambiguity, and help bring structure to evolving environments.
What’s on offer

  • An organisation investing seriously in technology, data, and process modernisation.
  • Direct influence over the design and direction of future-state systems and processes.
  • Supportive, pragmatic leadership with strong executive and board-level buy-in for technology uplift.
  • A growing organisation (threefold growth in recent years) with significant long-term opportunity.
  • A culture that values clarity, initiative, and practical outcomes over unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Longer-term potential to grow into BI or systems leadership as the data environment matures.
Additional details

  • Mostly on-site at Rutherford, but they’re flexible where it makes sense.
  • Some interstate travel required.
  • Christmas shutdown period: 19 Dec – 3 Jan.
If you’re looking for a Business Systems Analyst role with real influence – where your work will help shape the next generation of systems across a diverse, growing group – this is your playground.
