Full job description

We are a global Ibex 35 group where we develop innovative, high-value concessions, engineering and water projects across more than 15 countries where we operate.

We are looking for a person like you, to join our #SacyrOnCourse and help us to continue improving people's lives.

As part of the team, we are seeking a Design Manager who, in consultation with the Project Director and the broader Design Team, will lead and manage the finishes design process to ensure successful delivery aligned with project objectives, compliance requirements, and commercial outcomes.

Key Task

  • Lead the development of finishes design from concept through to construction, ensuring alignment with project scope, programme, budget, and contractual obligations.

  • Manage and coordinate consultants, interior designers, architects, and subcontractors in the preparation and delivery of finishes design documentation, ensuring consistency, buildability, and timely release for procurement and construction.

  • Drive the resolution of design discrepancies, clashes, and technical issues related to finishes, ensuring proper integration with architectural, structural, and building services disciplines.

  • Oversee compliance with Australian regulations, including the NCC (National Construction Code), relevant Australian Standards (AS), and requirements associated with fire performance, accessibility, durability, and maintenance.

  • Act as the key interface between Design and Delivery Teams, ensuring clear communication of finishes design intent, risks, changes, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead design reviews, workshops, and value engineering processes focused on finishes, optimising cost, quality, aesthetics, and maintainability without compromising design intent.

  • Coordinate and review samples, mock-ups, prototypes, and benchmark areas to validate design quality, material selection, and execution standards.

  • Provide technical leadership in the selection of materials, systems, and detailing, considering sustainability, durability, and performance criteria.

  • Ensure high-quality aesthetic outcomes across all finishes in line with architectural intent and client expectations.

  • Manage design deliverables, programme milestones, approvals, and procurement activities associated with finishes packages.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven at least 5 years of experience as a Design Manager in a similar role.
  • Relevant qualification in Architecture.
  • Spanish language skills highly regarded (but not mandatory).

Why join us?

  • Be part of a globally recognised infrastructure group.
  • Work in a dynamic international environment.
  • Play a central role in shaping and supporting our Australian operations.
