About the Opportunity

As a member of the Security & Traffic Services, you will be responsible for:

Coordinating and assessing emergency management training requirements to ensure the effective design and delivery of programs, including but not limited to; regular evacuation drills, fire warden training, scenario-based functional exercises, and desktop simulations, across all University Campuses.
Participating in, developing, and monitoring emergency response preparedness activities involving internal and external stakeholders.
Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders that will enhance the ability of the university to be better prepared for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
Ensuring all emergency management documentation and processes are compliant and current with relevant legislation and Australian Standards.
Maintaining an accurate database of identified staff and training provided in aspects of Emergency Management.
Leading debrief meetings, chairing the Emergency Planning Committee, providing knowledge and support to Critical Incident Management Team, and representing the University on Local Government Emergency Management Planning Committees.
Planning and oversee all aspects of Emergency Management projects to deliver sustainable outcomes and value within constraints of time and quality.
Employees are required to participate in all ECU, team, and individual planning activities; comply with ECU policies and practices in all aspects of their work and conduct; and ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others by complying with OSH and EO requirements.

About you

Our ideal candidate will:
Have a tertiary qualification in Emergency Management (or similar), and/or possess extensive experience in Emergency Management preparedness.
Be Driven, detailed orientated, and process driven individual.
Have the ability to critically analyse problems, and develop practical solutions.
Have knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards.

Importantly, you will demonstrate personal attributes that align with the University’s values.
