Primary objective
Provide specialist technical advice, solutions and support to client agencies to create and maintain a high-quality NT
Government (NTG) online presence that meets recognised accessibility and usability standards.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide specialist technical advice and front-end solutions to client agencies to ensure a high-quality NTG online

presence.
2. Build and maintain collaborative stakeholder relationships that create a high level of mutual trust and respect.
3. Provide specialist technical advice, guidance and mentoring to colleagues on the appropriate application of web standards

and common government platforms.
4. Develop and maintain reusable front-end solutions that incorporate usability, security and accessibility requirements, and

write well-tested and documented source code.
5. Apply quality standards to ensure consistent, professional and contemporary technical solutions, support and advice.
6. Monitor, apply and contribute to NTG web standards to ensure consistent, high-quality web services.
7. Actively participate as a member of the Web Services unit, providing innovative solutions, sharing technical knowledge

and working in a collaborative manner to ensure alignment with other work unit activities.
8. Adhere to NTPS and DCDD values, policies and procedures.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in front-end coding technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS and JavaScript) to develop and deliver high-

quality web solutions in accordance with contemporary development practices.
2. Technical skills and experience administering web content management systems, managing cross-platform integration,

preferably with experience relevant to a government context.
3. Strong applied knowledge of and experience incorporating accessibility, usability, responsive design, performance

optimisation and relevant web standards throughout the development lifecycle.
4. Well-developed analytical, problem anticipation and problem-solving skills, with the demonstrated ability to exercise

initiative and discretion, demonstrate flexibility and maintain confidentiality.
5. Well-developed interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to provide strategic

technical advice in plain terms, work collaboratively, mentor others and build effective stakeholder relationships.
6. Effective organisational, time management and planning skills, including the ability to manage complex project

components, change activities and competing priorities.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical

practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.

Desirable
1. Qualifications or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline e.g. Information Technology, Web

development, Human-Computer Interaction or similar.
2. Experience with Squiz Digital Experience Platform, Drupal, GitHub and APIs.
