Full job description

Title: Digital Print Production
Reports To: Production Manager

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support the efficient operation of the digital print production area by producing high-quality printed materials and maintaining effective working relationships with staff. The role ensures that production targets, quality standards, and customer expectations are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities1. Print Production

Produce professional-quality printed files efficiently and accurately by:

  • Outputting centre-produced and customer-supplied files using digital black-and-white, colour, and large-format printers.
  • Creating certified PDF files using the KKA recommended file delivery systems and procedures.
  • Managing all centre photocopying requirements.
  • Ensuring printing equipment is maintained and arranging repairs when required.

2. Digital Production Operations

Ensure production processes run efficiently and meet quality standards by:

  • Checking work orders to confirm all instructions are followed correctly.
  • Performing finishing control checks as required.
  • Identifying and reporting errors or non-conformities to the Production Manager promptly.
  • Recommending improvements to efficiency and quality, including entries into the CI Log.
  • Ensuring finishing processes are completed efficiently, within scheduled timeframes, and with minimal wastage.
  • Monitoring material levels and advising the Production Manager when stock is running low.
  • Arranging dispatch of completed jobs.
  • Reporting equipment faults or repair needs.
  • Wrapping, labelling, and storing excess stock appropriately.

3. Workflow Coordination and Team Support

Assist with coordination of production workflow and team productivity by:

  • Supporting and supervising production staff where required.
  • Promoting teamwork, cooperation, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Checking workflow trays at the end of each day and scheduling jobs based on priority.
  • Assigning tasks to printers and finishing staff and ensuring everyone understands the next day’s production schedule.
  • Ensuring all raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods are traceable to the relevant customer or work order number.
  • Performing quality control checks and ensuring production staff maintain high quality standards.

4. Workplace Health and Safety

Maintain a safe working environment by:

  • Complying with all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining equipment according to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Keeping work areas clean, organised, and free of hazards.

Team Contribution

The person in this role must demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support the broader team. While the primary responsibility is digital print production, the role may require assisting with other operational tasks as needed.

Skills and ExperienceEssential

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Previous practical experience in a digital print production environment, including finishing equipment.
  • Experience with Konica production equipment (advantageous).
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to follow established workflows, meet deadlines, and complete tasks efficiently.

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
