Eligibility
  • To be eligible for employment with the OFWO you must be an Australian citizen.
  • The successful candidate must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) or be willing to undergo and obtain a Baseline security clearance.

Position summary
We are seeking expressions of interest to fill the position of Director – Digital Experience and Strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director of our Advice and Education Branch, this role is critical to the ongoing success of FWOs digital channels and material, leading a team to manage, maintain and evolve FWOs websites, various online products, services and projects. In this role you will lead a creative, dynamic and passionate team who deliver and manage digital services and experience, including content strategy and development, user experience design and analysis.

The successful applicant will work very closely with stakeholders across the organisation and be part of the Advice and Education Branch leadership group.

About the Team
The Digital Experience & Strategy team is located within the Advice and Education Branch. We centrally manage and maintain FWO’s digital education channels and material, including www.fairwork.gov.au, www.horticulture.fairwork.gov.au, www.smallbusiness.fairwork.gov.au, www.coronavirus.fairwork.gov.au and FWO’s virtual assistant, Frankie, to ensure they are accessible, reliable and credible sources of information for our online customers.
The team works in partnership with business units across the organisation to deliver exceptional digital experiences for our customers and stakeholders, informed by evidence, expertise and best practice.

Typical Duties
The duties of this role include, however, are not limited to:
  • Team leadership, management and coaching
  • Leading delivery of specific outcomes / deliverables against agency priorities, including through periods of frequent change
  • Ensuring ongoing refinement and evolution of content and the digital experience, including development of content to support the community through any changes to workplace laws and ensuring ongoing integrity and reliability of FWO website information
  • Working closely with stakeholders across the agency, in particular Legal and Policy Group, the Regulatory Transformation Group and the broader Operations Group, as well as stakeholders across government to achieve best practice and quality communication outcomes
  • Providing oversight including reviewing and approving content and material for agency’s websites, to manage risk and meet user needs and expectations as per the FWO Website Governance Framework and related documentation.
Selection Criteria
  • Highly developed leadership skills, with a people-first mindset.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and negotiate appropriate communications outcomes.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to lead delivery of competing critical priorities and projects to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with influence across a range of audiences.
  • Technical understanding of current workplace relations laws and deep understanding of the needs of the FWO’s online customer base.
Highly desired
  • Relevant tertiary level education within workplace relations, law, information technology or communications.
  • More than 5 years’ experience in executive leadership roles.
