and compliant built environments.

YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking an Access Consultant to join our Brisbane office. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about
inclusive design and keen to develop specialist skills in accessibility, with full training and mentoring provided. You’ll work
alongside experienced Access Consultants on a diverse portfolio of projects, helping to ensure buildings and public spaces
are safe, equitable and usable for people of all abilities.

You may already be working as an Access Consultant, or wanting to move into the field from any of the below professions:

  • Architecture
  • Landscape architecture
  • Interior design
  • Building Surveying
  • Other like design professions
  • People experienced in health care consulting and design

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You are proactive, detail-focused and genuinely interested in accessibility and the built environment. You will ideally bring:

  • Completed Bachelor of Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Access consulting experience not essential – full training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards (including the AS 1428 series) will be
highly regarded.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good organisational skills, including the ability to manage time and meet project deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-focused.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Under the guidance of senior professionals, you will:

  • Review architectural drawings and develop documentation for accessibility compliance.
  • Conduct accessibility audits of existing buildings and public infrastructure.
  • Attend site inspections for new builds and refurbishments.
  • Provide advice on design compliance under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Disability (Access to
Premises – Buildings) Standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of performance solution reports and accessibility strategies.
  • Contribute to clear, well-structured written reports and practical recommendations for clients.

You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of project types, including:

  • Healthcare facilities, including major hospitals.
  • Airports and other public transport infrastructure.
  • Educational facilities across schools, TAFE and universities.
  • Residential towers and mixed-use developments.
  • Stadiums and major public venues.
  • Public realm and parklands.
