Reportable Conduct & Workplace
Investigations Officer$120,000 + Super Full-Time Permanent Hybrid Flexible Culture
Ashlar Support Services delivers specialist HR, WHS, finance and payroll solutions to purpose-driven organisations in the human services sector — including registered OOHC and NDIS providers across NSW. This role sits at the heart of our safeguarding mission.
About the role
As our Reportable Conduct and Workplace Investigations Officer, you'll be the primary point of contact for all reportable conduct and workplace misconduct matters across our partner organisations. You'll provide expert guidance aligned with the NSW Reportable Conduct Scheme and Office of the Children's Guardian (OCG) requirements, coordinating with regulators, investigators, and senior stakeholders throughout the full lifecycle of every matter.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct procedurally fair investigations consistent with OCG reportable conduct business rules
- Gather evidence, conduct interviews, and prepare comprehensive investigation reports
- Assess allegations under the Reportable Conduct Scheme and the Office of the Children's Guardian Act 2019
- Ensure all OCG compliance reporting is accurate and within required timeframes (7-day, 30-day, entity reports)
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate interim controls are identified and escalated
- Represent the organisation in Pre-Assessment Consultations (PAC) and Assessment Consultation (AC) meetings
- Liaise with the NSW OCG, DCJ, Police, JCPRP, and other statutory bodies
- Brief and coordinate external investigators when engaged
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with legislative and privacy obligations
- Embed lessons learned and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
What you'll bring
Essential
- Experience conducting formal workplace investigations
- Working knowledge of the Reportable Conduct Scheme
- Strong evidence-gathering and interview skills
- Excellent written communication and report writing
- Ability to engage confidently with regulators and senior management
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles
- Discretion, integrity, and high attention to detail
Qualifications & desirable
- Tertiary qualification in law, social work, psychology, HR, policing, education, or related field
- Understanding of the OOHC sector
- Experience with reportable allegation investigations
- Ability to work with autonomy under limited direction
Work requirements
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Clear National Criminal History Check
- Valid NSW driver's licence
- Right to work in Australia
