MULTIPLE POSITIONS OPEN!

We are looking for multiple casual Disability Support Workers in Sydney. You will work directly with NDIS participants in their homes and/or in the community. You will support participants to achieve their individual goals, develop everyday living skills, participate in meaningful activities, and maintain greater independence. Support will be tailored to each participant’s needs, preferences, abilities, support plan, and NDIS goals.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties may include:

  • Supporting participants to access the community and participate in social, recreational, educational, and capacity-building activities
  • Accompanying participants to appointments, community facilities, shopping centres, events, and other activities
  • Providing transport to and from activities or appointments
  • Supporting participants to develop independence, confidence, communication, and social skills
  • Assisting with daily living activities within the participant’s home including meal preparation, household tasks, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and general home organisation
  • Providing prompting or assistance with personal routines where required and within the worker’s training and responsibilities
  • Following participant support plans, risk assessments, behaviour support plans, and workplace procedures
  • Monitoring participant wellbeing and reporting any changes, concerns, hazards, or incidents
  • Completing accurate shift notes, progress notes, incident reports, and other required documentation
  • Maintaining professional boundaries and protecting participant privacy and confidentiality
  • Communicating respectfully with participants, families, guardians, support coordinators, and other relevant stakeholders

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Committed to promoting participant choice, dignity, independence, and inclusion
  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Comfortable providing support both in participants’ homes and within the community
  • Able to respond calmly and appropriately to different support needs and situations
  • Willing to follow organisational policies, participant documentation, and lawful workplace directions

Previous experience in disability support, aged care, community services, youth work, mental health, or a related field is preferred but not essential.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain:

  • A valid Australian driver’s licence
  • Access to a reliable and insured vehicle
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
  • Full working rights in Australia

Relevant qualifications in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, Nursing, Allied Health, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field will be highly regarded.
