About the role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred support to male and female clients living with disability across the Central Coast. Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short, split shifts required.

Responsibilities

  • Personal care including showering and toileting supports
  • Domestic assistance including cooking, cleaning and laundry
  • Manual handling including wheelchair support and sit-to-stand transfers
  • Community access and transportation assistance
  • Willingness to work short shifts , shifts are primarily 2 hours
  • Flexible and available to pick up shifts on short notice – sick leave and annual leave coverage
  • Support within clients' homes, 1:1 the community, or day program centres
  • Foster client choice and expression with the ability to think outside of the box

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to drive a 10-seater van
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Unrestricted driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID011

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Check.
