Job Title: Disability Support Worker - Physically Active

Location: Various, must be able to travel to Campbelltown, Fairfield, Auburn, Olympic Park and Camden,

Position Overview:

We are seeking reliable, compassionate, and physically capable Support Workers to join our team and provide high-quality care for NDIS participants with complex physical support needs.

This is an active role that requires manual handling, personal care, and community engagement to support participants in living meaningful and independent lives.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting participants with social and community access
  • Assisting with daily living activities at home and in the community
  • Transporting participants to appointments, programs, and outings
  • Providing personal care, including showering, toileting, grooming, and dressing
  • Manual handling and mobility support, including transfers using hoists and mobility equipment
  • Preparing meals, assisting during mealtimes, and completing light household tasks
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and participation in meaningful activities
  • Following individual care plans, routines, and support strategies

What We’re Looking For

  • Physically fit and capable of undertaking frequent lifting, bending, and mobility support
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow care plans and routines
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to care
  • Flexible availability, must have weekdays available, must be able to work some weekends, evenings and overnights, including inactive overnight.
  • Friendly team player but able to work autonomously.
  • Punctual, dependable and professional

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in disability or aged care support (NDIS experience highly regarded, in particular with mental health participants)
  • Certificate III in Individual Support - Disability ( or willing to obtain)
  • Valid Australian Driver Licence and own reliable vehicle (with insurance)
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Manual handling training (or willingness to complete)
  • Ability to prepare and cook meals
  • Ability drive a disability van (9 seater)

The position is shift work, with rotating roster over seven days, which may include weekend work and public holidays, however the right person must have availability during the weekdays and be able to work some inactive overnights. Hours are anywhere from 20 to 40 hours, subject to participant and support worker availability.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual, Temp to perm

Pay: $43.00 – $70.00 per hour

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • Working with Children Check (Required)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (Required)
  • National Police Certificate (Required)
