About the Role

Star Disability and Medical Services Pty Ltd is looking for compassionate, reliable and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team in Darwin. The position will be reported to the Team Leader/Director

In this rewarding role, you will support people with disability to live independently, participate in their community and achieve their personal goals. You will provide person-centred support while promoting dignity, choice, independence and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality personal care and daily living support.
  • Assist participants with meal preparation, household tasks and personal routines.
  • Support participants to attend appointments, social activities and community events.
  • Encourage independence and participation in the community.
  • Follow individual support plans and maintain accurate progress notes.
  • Support participants with medication in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with participants, families and support networks.
  • Follow workplace health and safety, safeguarding and NDIS requirements.
  • Report incidents and changes in participant needs appropriately.

About You

We are seeking people who are:

  • Strong communicators with a genuine interest in supporting people with disability.
  • Able to maintain professional boundaries and participant confidentiality.
  • Flexible and willing to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays where required.

Essential Requirements

  • At least 3 years working experience in disability, aged care, community services or a similar role.
  • Certificate III in in Disability, Individual Support, Personal Care, Social Work or other relevant qualification.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check, if required for the role.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
