Disability Support Workers (Casual) – SIL | Illawarra Region
IMMEDIATE START !

Supports for Living is currently seeking dedicated and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in the Illawarra for an immediate start.

This is an opportunity to join a team where collaboration, respect, and positive workplace relationships are at the core of everything we do.

This role is ideal for experienced support workers, as well as individuals who are passionate about the industry and willing to enrol in a Certificate III (or higher) in Disability or Individual Support.

About the Role

You will provide person-centred support to participants within a SIL home, assisting them to live as independently as possible while maintaining dignity, choice, and control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care (grooming, hygiene, dressing)
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals based on individual needs
  • Maintain a clean and safe home environment (light housekeeping)
  • Support mobility and daily living activities
  • Assist participants to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in social activities
  • Promote independence, well-being, and inclusion
  • Complete accurate documentation and progress notes

About You

You are reliable, compassionate, and committed to making a genuine difference. You will also demonstrate:

  • A strong person-centred approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build respectful relationships with participants and families
  • Initiative, flexibility, and a proactive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail in documentation
  • A team-focused attitude and reliability at all times

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in disability support work
  • Certificate III (or higher) in Disability/Individual Support (or willingness to enrol)
  • Understanding of the NDIS framework
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a fully insured vehicle
  • Must be based in the Illawarra region
