Full job description

* MUST HAVE CERTIFICATE III & IV IN DISABILITY SUPPORT AND A MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE.

Total Care Nursing is seeking compassionate and experienced Disability Support Workers with Certificate III or IV in Disability Support for Full Time, Casual or Part Time positions to provide support in line with tailored support plans to individuals with complex needs.

About The Role

The ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to providing person-centred care and will be adept at working with individuals with complex needs.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will support our clients with a range of daily tasks as prescribed in the client’s management care plan. These include but not limited to the following activities of daily living:

  • Assists clients with their personal care needs such as showering, dressing and eating.
  • Provide individually tailored support to maximise dignity, personal growth and independence.
  • Observes/reports changes in clients’ condition.
  • Reports complaints about care.
  • Completes and updates participants/client’s documentation and care plans as required.
  • Assists clients with their mobility and communication needs.
  • Provide support to participant/client in their social and recreational life as a member of the community

Qualifications And Experience:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support
  • 2 years of employment experience in the health/aged care, community services sector is essential.

Essential Requirements:

YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE 100 POINTS OF IDENTIFICATION

  • 100 Point Identification
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support
  • Current First Aid Certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Manual Handling completion or willing to do so
  • Current Police check within the last 12 months or willingness to obtain one prior to employment
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
  • Current driver’s license with access to a road worthy and comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Appropriate visa to work in Australia
  • Mobile Phone
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings/nights and weekends.

Pay: $35.00 – $99.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Disability/Aged Care Support: 2 years (Required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Valid First Aid Certification (Required)
  • Valid CPR (Required)
  • Cert lll or IV in Disability/ Cert III in Age Care Support (Required)
  • Valid WWVP Registration with NDIS Activities (Required)

Work Authorisation:

  • Australia (Required)
