Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is looking for an organised, personable administrator to support the delivery of medical services at Griffith Base Hospital.
About the role:
Join Murrumbidgee Local Health District as a Medical Services Support Officer, assisting and supporting the Director of Medical Services in the efficient and effective delivery of medical services at Griffith Base Hospital. This includes recruiting locums to cover short and longer term vacancies and providing a high level of medical administration support to ensure medical services are maintained and monitored across the hospital.
As the Medical Services Support Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing a high level of medical administrative support to the Director of Medical Services and Medical Officers, including organising meetings and drafting and distributing agendas and minutes.
- Maintaining all clinical departmental rosters and ensuring timesheets are accurate and complete.
- Maintaining and monitoring documentary requirements for the recruitment and management of locum staff to ensure appropriate medical officer staffing levels.
- Preparing welcome, instruction and orientation packages for locum Medical Officers, including coordinating eMR, internet and IT access, Medicare Provider Numbers, iPM access, and clearance and exit forms, plus accommodation, travel and vehicle arrangements.
- Assisting in matters supporting all Medical Officers and medical students within Griffith Base Hospital.
- Assisting in the coordination of medical education and the booking of Griffith Base Hospital fleet vehicles.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Bring demonstrated experience in an administration support role providing high quality clerical, administrative and/or secretarial support.
- Have a high standard of organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines within tight time frames.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including well-developed telephone skills and the ability to take minutes.
- Be able to work effectively both unsupervised and as part of a team, engaging with key stakeholders to draft correspondence and achieve outcomes.
- Have demonstrated high-level computer literacy, including confidence with payroll, accounts payable, email, web browsers, word processing and database management systems.
- Maintain a consistently professional manner and presentation, with a proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Hold an unrestricted NSW or other Australian State or Territory drivers licence, a NSW Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and meet Vaccination Category B requirements.
