Full job description

Built isn’t waiting for the future. We’re building it.

The Opportunity

Join Built as a Document Controller and play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of some of Australia's most exciting construction projects.

Working closely with project teams, consultants and subcontractors, you'll be at the centre of project information management, ensuring critical documentation is organised, accurate and accessible throughout the project lifecycle.

At Built, you'll be part of a high-performing team that values collaboration, innovation and accountability, while being empowered to take ownership, embrace change and continuously improve the way we work.

With exposure to complex projects, supportive leaders and a culture built around strong relationships and professional growth, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control project documentation, including drawings, RFIs, transmittals, registers and correspondence, ensuring information is accurate, current and distributed to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Administer and maintain document management systems such as Aconex and Fieldwire, ensuring document registers, drawing registers and project records are up to date and aligned.
  • Support the design and delivery teams with design change management, sample submissions and approvals, shop drawing workflows, and the coordination of consultant and subcontractor documentation.
  • Coordinate project handover documentation, including Operation & Maintenance Manuals, As-Built drawings, Green Star documentation and Practical Completion deliverables.
  • Work closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients to facilitate information flow, meet project milestones, and ensure compliance with quality, safety and contractual requirements.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience in a Document Controller position, ideally on major construction projects within the commercial construction industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Aconex and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent organisation, document management and administrative skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and coordinate across multiple project stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing deadlines, solve problems proactively, manage confidential information appropriately, and work collaboratively within a project team environment.
