Savanna is currently looking to grow our Rig Operations Crews and need qualified rig hands to work with our talented crews. We are currently seeking qualified Leasehands, Floorhands, Motorhands, Derrickhands, Assistant Drillers, Drillers, Rig Managers, residing in Australia to join our growing Rigs Operations teams / crew.

What experience & skills must you possess?

  • Positive attitude towards safety

  • The ability to work outdoors, in remote locations
  • Physical strength and stamina
  • The ability to work long hours and in extreme weather conditions
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Able to follow directions and company policies
  • Must be able to complete on job and other training within allocated time

  • Valid open and manual full C (Car) Class driver’s licence
  • Awareness of Chain of Responsibility Regulations
  • A general knowledge of machinery is considered to be an asset
  • Must be a team player, good communicator, have sound safety appreciation, time management and competent computer skills
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons; 12 hours a day, for extended periods away from home location. Vigorous manual labor required
  • Clean National Police Clearance Record (less than 1 month old)

The following valid certifications are preferred, though training can be provided to exceptional candidates (including Leasehands):

  • Industry Safety Induction (ISI) (or DCGI with current industry experience)
  • First response to fire incidents (less than 4 years old)
  • Operate Breathing Apparatus (less than 1 year old)
  • First Aid (including CPR) (less than 3 years old)
  • Enter and work in Confined Space with Gas Test Atmospheres (less than 2 years old)
  • Wellsite Permit to Work (Holder) (less than 2 years old)
  • Working at Heights with Gotcha Kit (less than 3 years old)
  • Operate Vehicles in the Field (4WD certificate) (less than 5 years old)

Leasehand roles MUST have:

  • Valid open and manual full C (Car) Class driver’s licence
  • Mush be physically fit and have previous experience working in a physical outdoor role
  • The ability to work outdoors, in remote locations
  • Ideal candidate will be positive, enthusiastic, hard-working and safety-focused.

Floorhand and Motorhand roles MUST have valid certifications (additional to preferred certifications):

  • Certificate II in Oil/Gas Drilling Operations (On shore)
  • Front End Loader (minimum requirement of RIIMPO321 or RIIMPO304)

Derrickhand role MUST have valid certifications (additional to preferred certifications):

  • Certificate III in Oil/Gas Drilling and/or Well Servicing Operations (On shore)
  • Current IWCF Level 2 Certificate
  • Monkeyboard Experience

Assistant Driller (AD) role MUST have valid certifications (additional to preferred certifications):

  • Certificate III in Oil/Gas Drilling and/or Well Servicing Operations (On shore)
  • Current IWCF Level 3 Certificate

Driller role MUST have valid certifications (additional to preferred certifications):

  • Certificate IV in Oil/Gas Drilling and/or Well Servicing Operations (On shore)
  • Current IWCF Level 3 Certificate
  • Wellsite Permit Authority (Rev 3)

Rig Manager Role MUST have valid certifications (additional to preferred certifications):

  • At least 5 years’ experience working as a Rig Manager
  • Diploma in Drilling and/or Well Servicing Oil and Gas (Onshore)
  • Current IWCF Level 4 Certificate
  • Ideal candidate will have a great work ethic, positive attitude, safety-focused and lead by example.
  • Equal time Roster 2n2 or 3n3 roster, providing great work-life balance
