Make a meaningful difference to the lives of Australians in need
Life at Mission Australia
When you join the team at Mission Australia, you become part of a community who are determined to end homelessness and ensure people in need can thrive. United by our Christian purpose and values, we advocate for a fairer Australia, to meet the growing needs of people across the country. Together we’re building hope and possibility for all.
Your Opportunity
Join a team committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with disability or developmental delay and their families through the NDIS Early Childhood approach.
As an Early Childhood Coordinator, you will work alongside children aged 0–9 years, their families and carers to understand their strengths, goals and needs, and connect them with the supports that help them thrive. You will complete functional assessments, provide family-centred guidance and develop tailored supports that build capacity, promote inclusion and improve outcomes for children and families.
You will collaborate with early childhood providers, community organisations and key stakeholders to strengthen inclusion, build community capacity and support positive outcomes for children with disabilities.
We're growing our team! We have two full-time and one part-time (22.8 hours per week) position available until 30 June 2027, based at our Devonport office. You will work across Northwest Tasmania, providing community-based support to children and families, with regular travel required throughout the region.
Join a values-driven team where your expertise, relationships and commitment to early childhood practice will help create positive change and support children and families to achieve their goals.
If you’re passionate about early intervention, building meaningful relationships and supporting families to achieve their goals, we’d love to hear from you.
Your key responsibilities will be to

-
Connect children and families with early childhood, mainstream and community supports to promote inclusion and participation.
-
Collaborate with families, early childhood providers and community stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for children.
-
Maintain accurate participant records and documentation in line with NDIS requirements and quality standards.
Requirements for Success
-
Relevant qualification in Early Childhood, Education, Social Work, Community Services or equivalent experience.
-
Experience supporting children with disabilities or developmental delay and their families using a child-centred, strengths-based approach.

Understanding of the NDIS Early Childhood approach and experience supporting families to access appropriate services and supports.
-
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships with children, families, carers and stakeholders.
