- Ongoing, full-time role earning $81,496 - $98,955 per year, plus super.
What you will do
As victim support worker, you will provide support through the Victims of Crime Helpline.
You will help people understand their options and connect with the right services.
You will:
- provide trauma-informed support to victims of crime and family violence
- assess family violence risks and help develop safe and practical safety plans
- give clear advice about victim entitlements, support services and referrals
- respond to calls, messages and referrals with care, respect and empathy
- keep accurate records and work with other services to support people safely.
About you
You need a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification that meets the mandatory requirements for specialist family violence workers. You must also have completed MARAM training, including risk assessment and identifying the predominant aggressor.
You should have at least two years of paid experience in family violence or victim support. Experience with male victims of family violence is preferred but not essential.
You should also have:
- strong knowledge of family violence, sexual assault and victim support services
- practical experience with MARAM, FVISS, CISS, L17 referrals and safety planning
- sound skills in case management, risk assessment and responding to critical incidents
- clear communication and the ability to manage difficult conversations with care.
