Your Role

We are seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our Women's Crisis Accommodation Services in the St George/Sutherland Region Working as part of a dedicated team, you will provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to women experiencing domestic and family violence. You will help create a safe, welcoming environment while supporting clients through their recovery journey and assisting with the day-to-day operation of the service.

Your Responsibility

Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support that promotes safety, dignity and empowerment
Assist with client intake, assessment and orientation into the service
Work alongside Case Workers to implement individual support and case plans
Maintain accurate case notes and client records
Support the day-to-day operation of the accommodation service, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment
Advocate for clients and liaise with external services and community partners
Deliver support in accordance with the Client Service Delivery Model (CSDM), organisational policies and best practice
Maintain a strong commitment to work health and safety, safeguarding and continuous improvement

You Will Need

St Vincent de Paul Society considers being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
Flexibility to work some weekends, Public Holidays and after hours.
Certificate IV in Community Services or a related qualification, or equivalent experience
Experience working within the community services, homelessness or domestic and family violence sector is highly regarded
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational and record keeping skills
The ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team
A non-judgemental, respectful and client-focused approach
Willingness to work a rotating roster including day, afternoon and sleepover shifts
A current NSW Driver Licence
