## Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electronic Engineering Technician to join our engineering team and play a vital hands-on role in the design, development, and maintenance of electronic systems and equipment. Working in close collaboration with Electronics Engineers and Engineering Technologists, you will support the delivery of high-quality technical outcomes across the full project lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong practical expertise, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. ## Key Responsibilities

- Develop, construct, and test electronic equipment and associated circuitry in accordance with technical specifications, manuals, and the direction of Electronics Engineers and Engineering Technologists
- Evaluate and assess the performance of electronic equipment, identifying faults, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions
- Inspect designs, prototypes, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications, technical drawings, contracts, and relevant regulatory standards
- Install, repair, and modify electronic equipment and systems, ensuring all work meets safety and quality requirements
- Estimate material costs and quantities required for electronic circuitry and equipment, supporting accurate project budgeting and procurement planning
- Collect, record, and analyse technical data from testing and diagnostic activities, preparing clear and accurate reports for engineering review
- Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and servicing of test instruments, measurement tools, and associated equipment
- Support the preparation of technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, circuit layouts, test procedures, and maintenance records
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations, ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with relevant Australian standards and site-specific procedures
- Source and liaise with suppliers and vendors regarding components, materials, and equipment specifications as required
- Participate in the commissioning and integration of new electronic systems, providing technical support during installation and handover phases

## Required Qualifications & Skills

- Certificate III or IV in Electronics and Communications, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline; a Diploma or Associate Degree will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in a hands-on electronic engineering technician or similar technical role
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, circuit diagrams, schematics, and engineering specifications
- Solid understanding of electronic principles, components, and systems including analogue and digital circuits
- Practical experience with the use of test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with a methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and workplace health and safety requirements
- Ability to prepare accurate technical documentation, test reports, and maintenance records
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet project deadlines

## Preferred Qualifications

- Diploma or higher qualification in Electronic Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Experience working within sectors such as defence, telecommunications, industrial automation, or utilities
- Exposure to PCB design, fabrication, or rework processes
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or embedded systems
- Current or prior experience working within an ISO-certified or similarly regulated quality management environment
- Relevant industry certifications such as a Restricted Electrical Licence or units of competency in electronics servicing
