Working closely with the Product team, you will contribute ideas, research and practical gaming insight to help identify new opportunities and support the development and improvement of products for gaming audiences.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who lives and breathes gaming, understands online gaming communities and wants to turn that knowledge into a career in product development.

Key ResponsibilitiesGaming and Industry Insights

  • Stay informed about new and upcoming game releases, established titles, classic games, major franchises and broader gaming industry developments.
  • Monitor emerging genres, platforms, technologies, publishers, developers and changes in player behaviour.
  • Identify games, features and industry developments that may present opportunities for new or existing products.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Product team on relevant gaming trends.
  • Research competitors and comparable products within the gaming and digital media markets.
  • Help the team understand different gaming audiences, including their interests, behaviours, preferences and needs.

  • Monitor gaming conversations and trends across platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Reddit, Discord, X and other relevant communities.
  • Identify games, creators, discussions, memes and community behaviours gaining momentum.
  • Provide insight into how gaming audiences engage with content, products and online communities.
  • Highlight emerging trends early and assess whether they may be relevant to the company’s products or audiences.
  • Share relevant community feedback and sentiment with the Product team.

Product Development Support

  • Contribute gaming knowledge and ideas during product planning, brainstorming and development sessions.
  • Assist with researching, evaluating and validating new product concepts.
  • Help prepare product briefs, audience summaries, competitor reviews and recommendations.
  • Review proposed products and features from a gamer’s perspective and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Participate in product testing and help identify usability issues, missing features and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with Product, Editorial, Audience, Social, Technology and other teams to support the delivery of new initiatives.
  • Help gather and organise feedback from internal stakeholders, users and gaming communities.
  • Track assigned product activities and follow up on actions, deadlines and deliverables.

About You

You are a genuine gaming enthusiast with broad knowledge of current games. You are naturally curious about why certain games, products and online trends succeed, and you can turn your observations into useful ideas and recommendations.

You are comfortable sharing your opinion while remaining open to feedback, different perspectives and commercial considerations. You are organised, collaborative and keen to develop your skills in product research, strategy and development.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of the gaming industry, including new releases, established franchises, classic titles and emerging trends.
  • Active interest in a variety of gaming genres and platforms.
  • Has curated or created a community for a game previously; and/or has an engaged YouTube channel; or is an influencer in the gaming/pop culture community
  • Good understanding of gaming communities and the social platforms they use.
  • Ability to identify trends and explain why they may be relevant to a particular audience or product.
  • A strong understanding of Discord and an active participation in the community
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to research information and present findings clearly and concisely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for developing a career in product development.

Desirable

  • Experience working in gaming, digital media, social media, community management, research or product development.
  • Experience testing digital products, websites, apps or online features.
  • Familiarity with product development processes or project management tools.
  • Experience creating research summaries, product briefs or competitor analyses.
  • An existing presence in, or strong familiarity with, online gaming communities.
  • Knowledge of gaming media, esports, streaming, content creators and gaming-related consumer products.

Formal product experience is helpful but not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate deep gaming knowledge, strong commercial curiosity and the ability to turn trends and community observations into practical product ideas.

Key Attributes

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about gaming
  • Curious and commercially aware
  • Creative and ideas-driven
  • Analytical and observant
  • Comfortable expressing and supporting an opinion
  • Collaborative and receptive to feedback
  • Organised and dependable

  • Delivering clear, accurate and well-researched recommendations.
