This is a unique opportunity to work directly with highly experienced infrastructure & energy finance professionals, gain and develop a strong understanding of structured finance transactions and gain direct exposure to deal origination and client engagement. You will also have visibility and the ability to learn about Natixis’ broader platform including leveraged finance, global trade, sector teams, DCM and M&A advisory.
As an Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the origination and execution of transactions across a range of sectors - helping the team to identify, evaluate and structure new financing opportunities, while gaining end-to-end exposure to the deal lifecycle and cross-team collaboration across the platform.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting the team in the origination, execution and syndication of new infrastructure and energy transactions - including debt financing, capital structuring, hedging products and capital market take-outs:
- Contributing to pitches and marketing materials, combining market analysis, sector trends and internal insights to secure financing mandates
- Assisting in the evaluation of potential transactions, performing detailed financial and credit analysis, reviewing deal due diligence reports
- Taking a key role in internal credit approval processes including preparation of internal credit papers for senior management
- Conducting market research and maintaining knowledge of sector trends, companies, sponsors, regulatory environment etc, supporting origination of potential opportunities
- Building relationships across IB teams, Azure Capital and Natixis’ broader client base
- Co-ordinating with internal stakeholders: risk, financing operations, treasury, legal and syndications teams to coordinate loan closings. These tasks include but are not limited to loan bookings, KYC, internal controls and reporting.
Essential skills:
- A genuine interest in structured finance and IB
- Experience in Infrastructure and Energy sectors with a track record of executing on debt financing transactions
- Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities with ability to work independently on transactions
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills - both written and verbal - with ability to work with clients and internal stakeholders across different cultures and time-zones
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines while support diverse deal flow across regional teams (Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Active user of generative AI tools.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant industry experience
- Prior experience in front-office role (e.g. CIB, structured finance, leveraged finance or advisory) within the infrastructure/energy space would be preferred
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Business, Engineering or a closely related quantitative field
- Applicants must hold current, unrestricted working rights in Australia
