The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Enrolled Nurse (General Medical Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

Deliver direct high-quality patient care
Manage clinical documentation
Administer medication within the scope of the role
Participate in unit quality audits and ward safety initiatives

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

Diploma of Nursing or equivalent
Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

Permanent part time (64 hours per fortnight)
Base salary ranging from $38.11 - $40.45 per hour

About Us

The General Medical Unit (B5 South) is located at block 5 south at Gold Coast University Hospital. B5 South is a high acuity General Medicine ward providing comprehensive nursing care to complex medical inpatients. The unit manages a high volume of admissions, complex condition management, acute deterioration, behavioural management, and discharge planning.
