We’re excited to offer a full-time permanent position within the Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service, Early Psychosis Programme (EPP) – a dynamic, multidisciplinary community mental health team dedicated to making a real impact in the lives of young people aged 14–25.

About the Role:

As the Rehabilitation Clinician – Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in delivering personalised, evidence-based care for young people at risk of or experiencing early psychosis. Your focus will be on empowering individuals through:

  • Tailored clinical rehabilitation support
  • Vocational, education, training, and employment interventions
  • Holistic, person-centred recovery planning in collaboration with young people and their families

You’ll work alongside a passionate and supportive team that values innovation, early intervention, and recovery-oriented care – all within the framework of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies and standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified Occupational Therapist eligible for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board, AHPRA
  • Mental health experience, especially in youth-focused or early intervention settings
  • A strong interest in vocational and psychosocial rehabilitation
  • Applicants currently completing their final semester of a recognised Occupational Therapy degree (or within 12 months of graduation) are also welcome to apply

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated competency in mental health rehabilitation with an ability to plan, implement and evaluate individual and group clinical rehabilitation interventions. , e.g. skills assessment and training, vocational interventions, health promotion and education, motivational interviewing and psychosocial strategies.
  • Experience working with young people (14-25 years) with mental health concerns, and knowledge of the mental health needs of young consumers with early psychosis and their families.
  • Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation, and a strengths based and recovery focused approach to service provision.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and with a diverse range of stakeholders including consumers, families and service providers.
  • Ability to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, evidence based practice and ongoing clinical and professional learning.
  • Current, unrestricted NSW Driver’s licence.
