Why Join Georgiou – A STRABAG company
Join Georgiou and the CoastaltraX consortium for the Wave Stage 1 Brownfield package as an Environmental Advisor to join our civil and engineering teams. The jointly funded Queensland–Australian Government project, led by the Acciona–Georgiou CoastalTraX consortium, will deliver a brand-new dual-track rail corridor from Beerwah to Caloundra—cutting through greenfield land to connect growing communities with two new stations at Bells Creek (Aura) and Caloundra.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
At Georgiou—now proudly part of STRABAG SE, one of Europe’s largest construction technology groups—you’ll join a business where local expertise meets global opportunity. For nearly 50 years, we’ve built Australia’s infrastructure and our reputation for being the best people to work with.
With Georgiou’s local knowledge and experience and STRABAG’s forward-thinking innovation, we’re delivering projects that connect communities, develop people, and set new industry benchmarks, all while staying true to the culture and values that make Georgiou unique.
- Build impact that lasts – work on iconic projects shaping Australian communities.
- Grow without limits – access world-class training, mentoring, and career pathways across Australia and STRABAG’s global network.
- Flexibility that works for you – enjoy wellbeing leave, paid parental leave, and support to help you stay connected to life beyond work..
- Belong and be supported – inclusive facilities like free hygiene products, parental and prayer rooms, and wellbeing programs.
- A culture that cares – our values of Care, Integrity, and Excellence guide everything we do.
- Reward for your work – competitive packages, annual reviews, and access to the Georgiou Perks discounts platform.
What you’ll do
- This role will be key in ensuring onsite implementation of the environmental management system requirements, promoting environmental awareness and driving high performance on the project. It will require you to provide technical support on significant environmental aspects, manage multiple environmental consultants, and liaise with the client and relevant stakeholders. Your duties involve:
- Developing, maintaining and ongoing supporting the Environment and/or Sustainability Management plan, processes and system elements
- Providing advice on environmental aspects such as contamination, erosion and sediment control, heritage, ecology, waste management, noise and vibration
- Applying for and managing any required environmental permits and approvals, providing the project team with awareness of legal compliance requirements
- Recording all relevant environmental data and compile reports for both internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring that the project complies with Georgiou HSEQ systems, policies, standards, and procedures
What you’re good at
- Possess relevant qualifications in environmental science or related discipline and similar role experience
- Experience in developing and implementing environmental monitoring programs as well as Knowledge of ISO 14001, and Federal and State Environment Acts & Regulations
- Projects exposure within civil engineering/construction environments is highly favourable
- To thrive in our team environment, you are a dynamic communicator who can build a strong relationship with project stakeholders at all levels
- Our project teams are innovative, always ready for a laugh and willing to go out of their way to help each other and roll up their sleeves to drive positive project outcomes.
We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive team
We welcome applicants of all cultures, backgrounds and identities; people with disabilities, members of the LGBTIQ+ community, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and current or former members of the Australian Defence Force, including veterans and reservists.
If you share our values, are driven by teamwork and innovation, and are looking to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you.
