The jointly funded Queensland–Australian Government project, led by the Acciona–Georgiou CoastalTraX consortium, will deliver a brand-new dual-track rail corridor from Beerwah to Caloundra—cutting through greenfield land to connect growing communities with two new stations at Bells Creek (Aura) and Caloundra.

What
you’ll do

  • This role will be key in ensuring onsite implementation of the environmental management system requirements, promoting environmental awareness and driving high performance on the project. It will require you to provide technical support on significant environmental aspects, manage multiple environmental consultants, and liaise with the client and relevant stakeholders. Your duties involve:
  • Developing, maintaining and ongoing supporting the Environment and/or Sustainability Management plan, processes and system elements
  • Providing advice on environmental aspects such as contamination, erosion and sediment control, heritage, ecology, waste management, noise and vibration
  • Applying for and managing any required environmental permits and approvals, providing the project team with awareness of legal compliance requirements
  • Recording all relevant environmental data and compile reports for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring that the project complies with Georgiou HSEQ systems, policies, standards, and procedures

What you’re good at

  • Possess relevant qualifications in environmental science or related discipline and similar role experience
  • Experience in developing and implementing environmental monitoring programs as well as Knowledge of ISO 14001, and Federal and State Environment Acts & Regulations
  • Projects exposure within civil engineering/construction environments is highly favourable
