NextStepAcademy is opening in Brisbane and hiring Private Tutors across the city, in-home and online, for Prep to Year 12. Families come to us for one-on-one help with Maths, English, Science, QCE subjects and primary school support. You bring the subject knowledge and the patience. Our app does the rest.

First in, first pick. We grew across Sydney because more families asked for tutors than we could supply, and Brisbane is next. The tutors who join now get first choice of the students as the bookings arrive, and online students from anywhere in Australia are available from your first week.

What you get:

• Pay that climbs with every student you keep: in-person lessons start at $40/hr and rise to $52.50/hr. Online starts at $30/hr and rises to $37.25/hr. Our highest placements pay up to $57.50/hr.
• Paid the same day, not the same month: your pay is released the moment the family's payment clears, usually the day of the lesson.
• A job board, not a roster: new students appear in your app with suburb, subject, year level and times. Take the ones that suit you, skip the ones that don't. Nobody assigns you anything.
• Zero paperwork: scheduling, attendance, invoicing and payouts all run through the app. You teach, tap attendance, move on. No lesson plans to submit, no marking.
• Work for yourself: you are a contractor. Keep your own private students, tutor for other companies, take a month off over exams. Your call.
• Experience that counts: one-on-one teaching with measurable results, and a reference when you need one.

Who does well here:

• People who turn up. Families book the same time every week and plan their evenings around you.
• Clear explainers with real strength in the subjects they list (you pick the subjects).
• Year 12 completed in Australia, QCE preferred.
• Australian residents who hold, or are willing to get, a Queensland Blue Card (it takes a few weeks, so start it early), plus an ABN (free, ten minutes online).
• A car makes in-home work easier. Online tutors need neither a car nor a licence.

University students and recent graduates welcome. Most of our tutors fit 2 to 10 hours a week around study or another job. Some build 15 hours of regular students.
