Events Support Officer
- Join our Major Events Team and support the coordination of our Annual Program

The Events Team is responsible for both delivering Council run events and supporting community, business and third-party events held across the Bayside area.
Purpose
Bayside Council is looking for an experienced Events Support Officer, to join the Events, Arts and Design Unit. The role is responsible for working with the events team to support the planning, organising, and delivery of the Council's Annual Major Events Program. The role provides comprehensive administrative and support services to the events team to support the ongoing coordination of the Major Events Program, including diary and records management, financial transactions, correspondence, and assistance with event delivery.
About the role
You can also expect to:
- Prepare documents, correspondence, and event materials
- Complete routine financial transactions and purchases
- Manage the Events email box and respond to emails and phone inquiries in a timely manner providing accurate information
- Work additional hours in a support role at council run events performing tasks such as bumping in and out of the event and assisting with other roles on the day of the event as required
- Maintain and update records and databases as well as coordinate and maintain council’s annual Event Calendar across all business units
- Assist the Events team with bookings such as entertainment, caterers, suppliers and contractors
- Promote a positive and collaborative work culture
- Assist the team with the logistical delivery of events, including managing event equipment inventory and maintaining the Events Shed to ensure all equipment is organised, accessible, and event ready.
About you
We are seeking a motivated event professional who is looking to further develop their career in the events industry and possesses the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Event Management and/or relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in the events industry, with a strong understanding of event planning and delivery.
- A self-motivated and proactive team player with exceptional organisational skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
