About the role

The Event Operations Officer offers an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of permits for events, filming, promotions and weddings across Melbourne's renowned parks, gardens, laneways and public spaces. This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring permit applications are managed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with legislative and operational requirements.

While you'll contribute across all Event Operations permit streams, your primary portfolio will focus on weddings, supporting couples and stakeholders to deliver memorable celebrations in some of Melbourne's most iconic outdoor locations.

  • Manage bookings and permits, with a primary focus on Melbourne's public space wedding portfolio.
  • Provide responsive, high-quality customer service and advice via phone and email to applicants and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate permit, financial and booking records across City of Melbourne's digital systems.

About you

You are a highly organised customer-focused professional who enjoys helping people and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You build positive relationships with ease, communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders and take pride in delivering exceptional service and accurate administrative support.

What your experience might look like

  • An understanding of event operations, permitting, public space management or a similar customer-focused environment will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality administrative support in a busy environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with experience responding to enquiries and providing accurate advice.
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures or legislative requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and work confidently across digital systems and Microsoft Office.
