Group and Team: Executive Services Network, Office of the CEO
Location: Town Hall
Employment status: Temporary (12 months), Full-time (Maternity Leave Cover) 1.0 FTE
Classification: Municipal Officer Level 3
Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024
Salary range: $93,872 to $102,624 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.

About the role
As the Executive Support Officer within the Office of the CEO, you will provide high-level confidential administrative and executive support to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Officer. This dynamic role is central to the smooth operation of the CEO's Office, coordinating complex schedules, managing correspondence and stakeholder enquiries, and delivering key events, projects and initiatives.
You will exercise sound judgement, discretion and professionalism while engaging with Elected Members, community members, employees and external stakeholders. The role also supports the development of briefing materials and communications, and contributes to the efficient management of the CEO's Office. Working as part of a small, collaborative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional service and outcomes across a diverse range of activities.

About you
You will hold a Degree or Diploma in Business Administration (or a related discipline), or bring significant experience in a similar executive support role. With exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, you thrive in fast-paced environments, confidently managing competing priorities, complex workloads and multiple deadlines.
A proactive and highly professional communicator, you build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, employees, external organisations and government agencies. You are committed to delivering outstanding customer service and demonstrate sound judgement, initiative and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters. Experienced in supporting senior executives, you anticipate needs, respond effectively to emerging priorities and contribute to the efficient operation of a high-performing executive office.
