Job Title: Café / High Tea/Business support All‑Rounder — Luxury Tearooms

( special life Events: birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers)

Location: Ascot Vale
Employment Type: Full‑time (flexible hours incl. weekends & some evenings)
Salary: $60,000-$70,000 (commensurate with experience) + tips

We are an upscale tearoom specialising in refined afternoon tea and beautifully curated small‑scale events (birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers and private gatherings). Our focus is on exceptional service, elegant presentation and memorable guest experiences in a boutique, high‑end setting.

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Café Manager / All‑Rounder to oversee day‑to‑day front‑of‑house and kitchen operations, lead a small team, manage stock and suppliers, and deliver outstanding event experiences. This hands‑on role requires strong operational skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to drive performance and five‑star guest satisfaction (including online reviews).

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of front‑of‑house and kitchen: opening/closing, food prep oersight, presentation and cleanliness

-a " MUST" know how to make a real good coffee.

-Manage ordering, supplier relationships and purchasing; ensure timely deliveries and cost‑effective sourcing
- Conduct regular stock takes, maintain accurate inventory records and control wastage
- Monitor and report on KPIs (sales, labour %, food cost %, customer satisfaction); develop and implement action plans to meet targets
- Plan, coordinate and execute in‑house events (birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers): menu coordination, room setup, timelines and vendor liaison
- Recruit, train, mentor and roster front‑of‑house and kitchen staff; promote a high‑service, team‑focused culture
- Manage cash handling, POS reconciliation and basic financial tasks (daily takings, payroll input, supplier invoices)
- Proactively manage guest relations and online reputation; respond professionally to reviews and drive 5‑star Google ratings
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety and liquor licensing requirements; maintain impeccable hygiene standards
- Collaborate with owner/marketing to promote events, seasonal offerings and build repeat business

Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ hospitality management experience, preferably in a luxury café, tearoom or boutique events venue
- Hands‑on experience with kitchen operations, ordering and stock control
- Proven track record meeting KPIs and delivering excellent customer satisfaction (experience managing online reviews desirable)
- Strong leadership, staff development and rostering skills
- Excellent communication, organisation and time‑management abilities; high attention to detail
- Comfortable with POS systems, inventory software and basic financial reporting
- Flexibility to work weekends and some evenings as required
- Food safety/hygiene/RSA certification preferred; relevant qualifications or hospitality training an advantage
