Primary objective
Implement integrated consumer marketing to position the Northern Territory as Australia’s most distinctive leisure travel
destination and a leading destination for major events. The Executive works with marketing centres and teams to coordinate
audience-led marketing and brand campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels. The role implements strategic campaigns
that build awareness and consideration, bring the refreshed Territory brand to life with consumers, inspire visitation and support
sustainable growth of the visitor economy.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Activate priority audiences across Tourism and Events NT’s events and destination marketing portfolio to leverage growth

opportunities and drive visitation.
2. Work collaboratively across marketing centres to connect activity, implement brand positioning, value propositions and

targeted messaging aligned to consumer segmentation and marketing objectives.
3. Implement and report on integrated marketing strategies for major events and the Northern Territory as a destination, ensuring

a cohesive approach across owned, earned and paid channels and optimising performance and ROI.
4. Monitor marketing budgets across campaigns in line with organisational objectives, ROI expectations and measurable

performance outcomes.
5. Manage key creative and media agencies to deliver compelling campaign concepts, strategic media schedules and optimise

activity in market.
6. Support a high-performing team across multiple brands, events and destination programs, fostering collaboration, creative

thinking, problem solving and accountability.
7. Maintain strong collaborative partnerships with media, industry, event owners, stakeholders and government at local and

national levels to extend reach and deliver cooperative marketing outcomes.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in high-performing teams with high performance across collaboration, creativity and accountability.
2. Experience in a marketing role in consumer, event or destination marketing or communications, with responsibility for

implementation, budget monitoring and performance reporting.
3. Demonstrated expertise in integrated marketing across owned, earned and paid channels, with the ability to connect activity

across marketing teams and touchpoints.
4. Strong conceptual, creative and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret research, market intelligence and performance

data to inform decision-making and solve problems.
5. Developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate and

influence across teams and organisations.
6. Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and external agencies to deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed

timeframes and budgets.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, tourism, business or a related discipline.
2. Knowledge of the Northern Territory tourism industry, visitor economy and destination marketing environment, or the

demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
3. Experience working within government or complex stakeholder environments.
