Full job description
This is your chance to join a legendary team and keep the wheels turning at the heart of our Burnie/Somerset branch.
We’re looking for a customer focused and highly organised individual to step into the role of Service Coordinator within our Burnie branch.
At William Adams, you’ll join a supportive team culture with real opportunities to grow your career across our Service and Branch network. With 100 years as a Caterpillar dealer behind us, you’ll be part of shaping the next century of customer service and operational excellence.
This is no ordinary desk job. Working on a 7/7 roster (Wednesday to Thursday 6am-6pm), you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds - meaningful work and time at home every night.
Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you’ll be the key link between customers, technicians, and internal teams. You’ll coordinate workflows, schedule technicians, manage technical queries, and ensure work orders are delivered accurately, on time, and to a high standard.
We’re looking for someone who brings precision, pace, and strong people skills. A mechanical background and experience in planning or scheduling will set you up for success - but what matters most is your drive, initiative, and commitment to great service.
In this role, you will:
- Book and schedule work in progress
- Liaise with customers throughout machine repairs
- Provide clear and timely updates on repairs and equipment builds
- Prepare quotations following inspection work
- Manage invoicing and ensure accurate job and pricing details
- Work closely with other departments to deliver effective solutions
ABOUT YOU
You’re organised, reliable, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You build strong relationships and keep things moving without compromising quality or safety. A background in the mechanical or heavy industry is an advantage, but not essential.
To succeed, you will bring:
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new systems and communicate clearly and professionally in writing
- Experience in the heavy mechanical industry (desirable)
- A strong commitment to safety, health, and environment standards
Why join us?
Working with an iconic brand is just one part of what makes William Adams a great place to work. Our people and their safety come first, and we’re proud of our supportive and inclusive culture.
We offer:
- Competitive salary with annual reviews
- Recognition and appreciation programs
- Ongoing career development and training opportunities through the William Adams Institute of Training and Caterpillar
- Perks including novated leasing, purchased leave, and partner discounts across banking, health insurance, and fitness
