Compensation: Annual Salary AUD $86,482.00 - $101,305.00

Employment type: Temporary Full Time > 6 Months

Work Arrangement: On-site

THE POSITION:

This is a 12 month maternity leave replacement. The Digital Engagement Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of an effective digital engagement presence and promotion of Fairfield City Open Libraries.

The Digital Engagement Officer will work with library teams and relevant departments to promote the library service across the community, and building a strong profile for our activities, collections and programs to encourage community participation.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Tertiary degree qualifications in digital marketing, graphic design, communications, journalism or a related field, and/or extensive relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with website content management systems and working knowledge of HTML
  • Demonstrated experience with digital content creation including development and implementation of digital engagement strategies
  • Demonstrated experience working with different social media platforms and websites
  • Self-reliance in essential office computer applications (Microsoft Office programs, internet, email)
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships across all levels of the organisation, and with a range of stakeholders
  • Highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills including undertaking social media promotion activities
  • Ability to exercise high levels of autonomy, while at the same time working effectively in a team based environment that is outcomes focused.
  • Ability to work in an environment with constantly changing priorities and competing demands
  • Class C Driver’s License

DESIRABLE:

  • Understanding of the unique communication challenges when working in a diverse community
  • Public library and/or local government experience
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating digital communications activities
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in at least two of the following areas:
  • Video editing
  • Electronic newsletters (format and content)
  • Writing, editing and producing high quality publications

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Temporary position for a period of 12 months, 70 hours per fortnight
  • This position is a Grade 5, salary range is $86,482p.a. with progression to $95,459 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $101,305p.a., plus 12% Super
  • Flexible working hours are available.
  • A uniform is provided
