Where you'll be working
Kurri Kurri is a small town located in the heart of the Hunter Valley. It boasts many attractions and is a short drive to the renowned Pokolbin wine region and the cities of Maitland and Newcastle.


Kurri Kurri Hospital is an acute and transitional care facility providing general and geriatric medicine; ear, nose and throat and ophthalmic surgery, a 24-hour emergency department and a 24-bed rehabilitation unit.

What you'll be doing

The primary purpose of the position is to provide effective clinical management and high-quality clinical care, under supervision, to patients seen in or admitted to the Kurri Kurri and Maitland hospitals whilst developing clinical expertise in the principles and practice of geriatric medicine.


  • Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team including leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to convey information to both a clinical and non clinical audience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education with evidence of desire to pursue specialist status in rehabilitation medicine.
