About the role
As a Family and Community Support Worker, this is your opportunity to support children and families across the City of Sydney through community programs that build connection, wellbeing, and resilience. You will provide practical support and help families access the services and resources they need to thrive.
Reporting to the Community Programs Facilitator, this is a 12-month maximum term, full-time role, based in Sydney, NSW.
How you will make an impact
- Assist in identifying community needs and supporting the development and evaluation of family-focused programs.
- Deliver trauma-informed support to families and community members, following No Wrong Door principles.
- Connect families with appropriate internal and external services through effective referrals and service navigation.
- Maintain accurate records, case notes, and communication to support quality service delivery.
- Provide administrative, logistical, and operational support to ensure programs run smoothly.
- Follow safety, risk management, and organisational procedures to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant area (Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services and/or significant experience within the industry
- Understanding of Trauma informed Care Framework
- Mental health first aid training (preferred)
- Food Handling Course (or willingness to obtain one) required
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions
- Good oral and written communication skills
- A national police record check is required
- NSW Employee Working with Children’s Check
- Current valid driver’s licence (preferred)

- Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
- Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities.
