Full job description

Location: Goomburrup – Bunbury WA

Hourly rate starting: $40.69 (plus penalties plus Super plus NFP Salary Packaging)

genU is looking for an experienced Support Workers who can team up with our customers. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities and requiring mental health support, as they make the transition from hospital to home.

This is a 'Night Awake' position. Please review the roster included to ensure you can work the shifts before applying.


What you’ll do

  • Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them;
  • Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting and medication administration;
  • Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
  • Administration duties and mandatory reporting

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans;
  • Extensive experience working with challenging behaviours- essential;
  • An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities;
  • Ability to manage complex or difficult situations as they arise with patience and maturity;
  • Previous experience with manual handling and medication administration;
  • Willingness to assist with personal care experience;
  • Cert III in Disability, Individual Support or higher (or working towards one) OR proven experience supporting people living with disability or mental health is essential;
  • A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)
