GV Independant Packers Pty Ltd is a family-owned and operated business that has been operating since 1948. The business manages over 1,500 acres of orchards across the Goulburn Valley region, producing a range of apples, pears and stone fruits for the domestic and export markets. We oversee the entire journey of our produce, from production and storage through to packing, marketing and transportation.

GV Independent Packers Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Fruit Farm Worker to join our team at our orchard in Shepparton, VIC 3630.

The salary offer is $79,423 per annum plus superannuation.

Main responsibilities include:

· Preparing, cultivating and fertilising soil to establish and maintain healthy orchards.

· Planting, training, pruning and thinning fruit trees to promote healthy growth, maximise fruit quality and optimise orchard productivity.

· Assisting with the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure an adequate water supply for orchards.

· Monitoring orchard conditions and inspecting trees for signs of pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies and other crop health issues, and reporting any concerns.

· Applying fertilisers, herbicides, pesticides and fungicides in accordance with workplace procedures.

· Performing routine orchard maintenance, including weed control, maintaining tree rows, and erecting and repairing trellises, protective netting and fences.

· Operating tractors, sprayers and other farm machinery and equipment used for cultivation, fertilising, spraying and general orchard operations.

· Cleaning and maintaining orchard machinery, irrigation systems, sheds and other farm infrastructure.

Required qualification and experience:

· At least one year of relevant work experience in a commercial orchard or other primary production environment.

· A Certificate II in Production Horticulture, Horticulture or Agriculture is highly regarded.

Ideal skills and attributes:

· Knowledge of commercial orchard production practices.

· Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor environment.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
