Fruit Farm Worker – Grapes & Other Commodities

Location: Red Cliffs, Victoria

Employment Type: Full-time

Are you seeking an opportunity to work outdoors in a thriving agricultural region of Australia? We are a well-established table and wine grape farm located in beautiful Red Cliffs, Victoria, and we are currently seeking dedicated and hardworking Fruit Farm Workers to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a hands-on role in a dynamic agricultural environment. We value commitment, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.

Working days will be 6 days or fewer, depending on harvest and varying hours. Commonly, shifts commence at 6 am and can be 12 hours or less. Availability from December – May to work as needed is essential.

About the Role:

As a Fruit Farm Worker, you will be involved in various grape cultivation and harvesting aspects. Your duties may include, but are not limited to:

Shed Duties:

  • Cleaning and maintaining sheds on all sites
  • Organising stock and preparing for export by hand

Vineyard Maintenance:

  • Pruning
  • Trellis construction and repair
  • Irrigation management
  • Pest and disease monitoring
  • Weed control

Grape Cultivation:

  • Training vines
  • Leaf plucking/thinning
  • Bunch thinning

Harvesting:

  • Careful picking of table and wine grapes according to ripeness and quality standards
  • Sorting, grading, and packing of fruit
  • Loading harvested produce onto trucks

General Farm Duties:

  • Operating farm machinery (training provided if necessary)
  • General farm clean-up and maintenance

Shed Duties:

  • Cleaning and maintaining sheds on all sites
  • Organising stock and preparing for export by hand

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Australians driver’s licence
  • Transport to/from and around the workplace as needed
  • Forklift licence
  • Chemical handling licence
  • Truck licence (Heavy Rigid)
  • Ability to lift, and move 10 kg or more continuously
  • Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical, and a drug and alcohol check
