  • Perth based roles - Operations Centre- MineStar Controllers
  • Attractive roster - 3 days on, 3 nights on and 6 days off (12-hour shifts)
  • Work in the central decision-making hub for Rio Tinto - Operations Centre
  • Extensive controller training package

About the Role

We are looking for MineStar Controllers to manage the operations of our Pilbara Mine autonomous fleet to ensure that safety, operational and production targets are met while working to achieve optimal performance with site personnel in a safe manner.

This role is a great opportunity for self-motivated and proactive team members with above average situational awareness who can problem solve individually and in consultation with others.

Reporting to the Supervisor Control and working in a challenging and exciting environment within Integrated Control, you will be:

  • Utilising state of the art technology and systems to deliver KPIs
  • Working in a team environment
  • Controlling the world’s first Autonomous Watercarts
  • Controlling CAT trucks
  • Liaising with site to achieve the best possible outcome

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Extensive experience in AHS – Autonomous Haulage System, MineStar Fleet Management System, MineStar Command System, Infield builder experience, Infield pit knowledge and/or MineStar Building.
  • A strong work ethic with the willingness to succeed and make all KPI’s set within the role
  • Sound communication and computer skills
  • Strong forward-thinking mindset and strategic and analytical skills
  • The ability to multi-task within a busy work environment
  • Mining experience
  • A current and valid Australian Driver’s Licence

Where you’ll be working

Our integrated iron ore network is supported by our Operations Centre (OC) in Perth, a state-of-the-art facility that enables all the autonomous trucks, trains and drills at our mines, ports and rail systems to be operated from a single location. The Centre incorporates visualisation and collaboration tools to provide real-time information across our demand chain and allows us to optimise our mining, maintenance and logistic activities across the Pilbara in a way never before possible. Located near the Perth domestic airport, the OC operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to coordinate our integrated network of mines, rail, and ports from 1,500km away.
