The OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Business Controller to join our leadership team based in Perth.

This is a high-impact role partnering closely with the General Manager, Plant Manager and broader leadership team to drive financial performance, operational efficiency and strategic decision-making across our manufacturing and service operations.

You will play a critical role in supporting business growth, strengthening financial control, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring the business operates with strong commercial discipline.

The Role

As a key member of the leadership team, you will provide insight, challenge and direction to support growth, profitability and operational performance.

You will combine strong financial expertise with commercial acumen to identify risks, uncover opportunities and deliver meaningful business insights that support informed decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager, Plant Manager and leadership team
  • Drive financial performance across P&L and Balance Sheet at both business unit and entity level
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes
  • Deliver high-quality financial analysis, insights and recommendations to support business decisions
  • Monitor business performance and proactively identify risks, opportunities and improvement initiatives
  • Support operational leaders in driving productivity, efficiency and profitability outcomes
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with group standards and local regulatory requirements
  • Oversee cash flow management, credit control and investment analysis
  • Lead finance systems, reporting and process improvement initiatives
  • Support audits, governance activities and financial compliance requirements
  • Lead and develop the finance function while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

About you

You are a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with operational leaders and influencing business outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 8+ years’ experience in finance, commercial finance, business controlling or a similar leadership role
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, mining equipment, heavy industry, industrial services or production environments
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, P&L and Balance Sheet management
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders to drive business performance
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and provide commercially focused recommendations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Experience leading teams and driving process or systems improvements
  • Degree qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline
  • CPA, CA or equivalent qualifications will be highly regarded
