Full job description
Hey Mr New Farm is looking for an experienced and reliable Cafe Manager to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day operation of our busy New Farm café.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, can lead a team confidently, and understands the importance of great customer service, consistency and smooth daily operations.
This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week position. We can offer flexibility with the roster. Ideally, the successful candidate would work one weekend day, however a Monday-to-Friday roster may also be considered for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the café
- Lead, support and train front-of-house staff
- Maintain a high standard of customer service
- Manage staff rosters and daily workflow
- Monitor stock levels and ordering
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards
- Help control labour and operating costs
- Handle customer feedback professionally
- Work closely with the owners to continually improve the business
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous café or hospitality management experience
- Is confident leading and motivating a team
- Has strong communication and customer service skills
- Is organised, reliable and hands-on
- Can work independently and take responsibility for the café
- Understands café operations, staffing and cost control
- Has barista experience — preferred but not essential
