Assistant Venue ManagerJack Gray Café | Grays Point, Sydney NSW

Jack Gray Café is a busy venue in the Sutherland Shire focused on quality food, strong community connection, and creating memorable guest experiences. Since reopening under new ownership, the venue has grown rapidly through events, premium casual dining, and unique hospitality experiences.

We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to help lead day-to-day operations across service, team culture, guest experience, and venue performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys hospitality floor operations, leading teams from the front, and building a venue with energy and personality.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting daily venue operations across breakfast, lunch, dinner and events
  • Leading and motivating the FOH team during service
  • Assisting with staff training, onboarding and performance management
  • Managing service flow, reservations, guest feedback and floor coordination
  • Working closely with ownership on venue growth initiatives and operational improvements
  • Assisting with stock control, ordering, rostering and labour management
  • Maintaining high presentation, cleanliness and service standards
  • Helping deliver special events, bottomless brunches, steak nights and seasonal activations

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, café or venue management role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Confident managing busy services and resolving guest concerns professionally
  • Solid understanding of hospitality operations and team management
  • NSW RSA required
  • Experience with POS and reservation systems preferred
  • Someone energetic, reliable and genuinely passionate about hospitality
