About the role

The position is a full-time, fixed-term appointment until 24 August 2027.

The Coordinator Special Events supports the successful delivery of major, special and community events across Victoria by coordinating transport planning, stakeholder engagement and operational readiness. The role works with transport operators, event organisers, venues, councils and government agencies to manage demand, assess impacts and support safe, efficient access to events.

Key responsibilities include coordinating event transport requirements, ensuring legislative and contractual obligations are met, managing safety, security and crowd risks, and maintaining accurate event information through the Special Events Management System (SEMS). The role also provides expert advice and builds strong stakeholder partnerships to deliver reliable, high-quality transport outcomes.

• Coordinates projects and activities effectively, monitoring progress, guiding others and taking corrective action to deliver agreed outcomes.
• Uses sound judgement and critical thinking to assess issues, seek information and develop practical solutions.
• Works collaboratively across teams, sharing information, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment.
• Communicates with empathy and flexibility, understanding different perspectives and tailoring communication to suit the audience.

Qualifications and experience

You’ll bring:

• Qualification or experience in project management (desirable)
• Victorian Drivers Licence
