You will ensure Kogan.com customers always have access to the most sought-after, trending gaming gear on the market..

Reporting directly to the Head of Consumer Electronics / Director of Purchasing, you will have true end-to-end ownership of your categories. You will be responsible for identifying margin opportunities, commercial dealmaking, developing exciting new products, cultivating strong global supplier partnerships, managing P&L responsibilities, and leveraging the latest market data and AI tools to stay ahead of the rapidly evolving gaming industry.

This is the ideal role for you if:

  • You are an experienced Category Manager / Buyer with a proven track record in gaming, consumer electronics, or tech-adjacent retail.

  • You are a senior Assistant Category Manager / Associate Buyer / Junior Buyer with solid category management experience ready to step up to take on a full, autonomous ownership of a major category portfolio.

  • You possess deep commercial acumen paired with genuine industry knowledge of gaming trends, hardware cycles, and brand ecosystems.

  • You live and breathe all things Digital, Consumer Tech and Electronics (ideally with a gaming twist) and understand the nature of the competitive retail landscape

If you are outcome-focused, commercially sharp, are fired up to grow the gaming & consumer tech space, and seek a challenge, apply today to take the next major step in your career!

In this role you'll be responsible for:

  • Engaging, negotiating, and onboarding key local and international suppliers and brand partners to secure exclusive deals, market-leading pricing, and optimal trading terms.
  • Managing a cadence of daily category operations, range management, deal buys, inventory turns, margin mix, coordinating logistics and controlling a promotional rhythm to consistently meet and exceed monthly revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Driving dynamic pricing strategies across multiple sales channels to maintain market competitiveness while maximising profitability.
  • Conducting demand forecasting, maintaining optimal stock levels, and managing product lifecycles -from launch to end-of-life clearance - to prevent overstocking and stockouts.
  • Partnering closely with Marketing, Content, Promotions and Logistics teams to optimise product discoverability, campaign execution, and the overall customer buying journey.
  • Conducting regular range reviews, category analysis and deep-dive reporting on category performance, using data-driven insights to make quick, agile adjustments.

To be successful in this role, you should be:

  • Category Management / Buying / Planning experience within eCommerce, Retail, or FMCG - specifically managing Gaming, Technology, or Consumer Electronics portfolios.
  • Deep insight into gaming hardware, peripherals, emerging tech trends, and key global/local distributor networks.
  • Strong analytical capability and P&L management experience, with a track record of identifying growth opportunities and driving margin expansion.
  • Excellent communication and vendor management skills with a proven ability to negotiate top-tier trading terms and pricing structures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data modelling, complex formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions).
  • Comfort with modern IT/cloud tools and an eagerness to leverage AI tools to streamline workflows, automate reporting, and boost productivity.
  • A thrive-under-pressure mindset tailored for a fast-paced, highly disruptive, agile eCommerce environment.
