Full-time | Long-term opportunity | Family-owned mixed farming enterprise

Nowley Pastoral Co is a progressive, privately owned mixed farming enterprise with a strong reputation for innovation, stewardship, and producing quality livestock and crops. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Stationhand to join our team and play an important role in the ongoing success of our operation.

About the Role

Working closely with the owner, this hands-on role involves the day-to-day operations of a diverse and productive farming business. You’ll take responsibility for a wide variety of agricultural tasks, supporting livestock and cropping operations while contributing to the safety, efficiency, and profitability of the enterprise.

The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a collaborative environment where everyone “chips in” to get the job done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all facets of livestock husbandry, feeding, and grazing management.
  • Support cropping operations, including planting, spraying, harvesting, and irrigation tasks.
  • Maintain farm infrastructure including fencing, water systems, and machinery.
  • Operate a range of farm machinery safely and effectively.
  • Participate in planning and scheduling work in alignment with weather conditions and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate farm records using iPads, apps, and digital tools.
  • Uphold workplace health and safety standards and promote a clean, organised work environment.
  • Support out-of-hours farming or livestock care as required.

About You

You’re a practical, capable operator who enjoys the challenge of working across a variety of agricultural activities. You’re proactive, safety-focused, and take pride in maintaining high standards.

You will bring:

  • Previous experience in mixed farming or livestock operations.
  • A current driver’s licence (HR licence highly regarded).
  • Excavator experience highly regarded
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and general farm repair skills.
  • Good communication skills (radio, phone, and digital).
  • Chemical user certification or willingness to obtain.
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and strong time management.
