About the role

We have a requirement for a Junior Legal Secretary to join our close-knit and friendly Professional Indemnity team. In this newly created role, y our day to day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Opening, closing, and archiving of matters
  • Diary management including scheduling appointments
  • Telephone calls with clients, Courts/Tribunals, other law firms, and third parties
  • Drafting and amending routine correspondence
  • Preparation and filing of court documents
  • Collating briefs to Counsel and experts
  • Electronic and hard copy filing
  • Monthly billing
  • General administrative duties

Please note: this position is not suitable for law students.

About you

We are ideally looking for candidates with at least 12 months’ administrative or secretarial experience gained in a law firm, but we are also keen to hear from candidates with transferable experience gained in other environments. Full training will be provided. Your dedication to providing our clients with exceptional customer service, and your enthusiasm and willingness to learn and work as part of a collaborative team will be valued.

To excel in this role you will have:

  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to thrive under pressure
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Competent IT skills and the ability to learn new software and systems quickly
  • Strong problem solving skills and demonstrated initiative
